Do Your Kids have Penpals?

Earlier today I spent a few hours (like half the day) looking up an old friend that I onced lived with. It’s been about 10 years since we saw one another but I still remember her, her husband and their two kids and

they still remember me, my husband and our son. Granted now we have an additional three more, it was like a day hadn’t passed.

Well my kids and her kids have decided to be penpals. In a way these will be kids writing a real penpal they’ve never met because honestly while they’ve heard a ton of stories about the other child, they were only 2-3 years old when they last saw one another. The younger three never even met them.

I remember writing pen pals in school and the excitement of getting something in the mail. I’m sorry, it isn’t like getting a bill or even an email in your inbox. Getting an envelope with your name on it and a personal letter inside is like getting a box of chocolates that you hadn’t expected. Do you children write a penpal? I think the summer is the perfect time to start this, the kids will continue writing and they can continue if they feel once the school year starts.
