Here’s a piece I made when I was a Brownie Scout. I can’t remember if that was first grade or kindergarten, but whichever, I think I’ve developed a bit more skill since then. Don’t worry about how feeble your first attempts are…just keep going. It does get better!
Thanks for sharing that, Cyndi. I think it’s very encouraging and brave. We all like to focus on perfection, but sometimes just starting somewhere is the key to learning and growing. Cool.
I can’t even tell you what a laugh I got when my Mom gave me this piece as Christmas, Heather. She is responsible for encouraging me to try all different art forms
I still have a few things I made when I was a child. I have to say some talents never get better LOL. My grandmother taught me to latchhook. I still have the first rug we made together. It’s pretty darn old at this point. It’s so fun to get to “visit” the blogs from Bloggy Carnival now that I have time and can read and post.
This is so great that you have a piece from your childhood. I just noticed my daughter has a piece of weaving on her bookshelf that I taught her when she was in the early grades. Today it’s easier to keep track of the children’s projects with digital cameras but back then we didn’t think about preserving so much so what a neat thing to have that piece saved for you.
It’s funny Timaree…now that my parents are downsizing, lots of stuff is starting to come back to me. Oh great! Now I have to find a place for it or toss it

Well, you’re right about that, Audrey. My early attempts to understand math never got any better… LOL!!
