I think chelation is the right approach for most of the neurological disorders. What is important, but little mentioned, is to live a strict vegan lifestyle in an environment free of mercury contamination. In order for chelation to work, you have to avoid redeposition of mercury back in the central nervous system. Unfortunately, the more meat you eat, the more brain mercury you would end up with. A lifestyle free of meat and dental amalgam is the only option that is economical and drug-free.

By the way, I am also a PhD. I think, in the light of science, it is also important not to label anyone with doctorate titles too loosely.

My son had just finished his first round of chelation and the teachers at his school who had no knowledge of this and had been working with him 5 days a week 7 hrs a day for 3 yrs went from telling me some kids just can't learn, or learn very, very, very slowly such as my son, to telling me "Colby is AMAZING!!!" And "Colby is LEARNING" this feels really good, and convinces me that it is the chelation and only the chelation that is making such a huge difference. He was tested and showed NO mercury in his blood, and not much above the normal range for lead. We are doing the treatment in spite of this, my son went from not being able to learn to picking up new things every day. Still no speech, but a great deal of expression and comprehension that just wasn't there just one month ago when he was diagnosed as severely mentally retarded. His autism was diagnosed at 15 months, and with each round of vaccination he regressed and lost skills until he had none. We are exceeding past the level he was at when he was diagnosed, which had been long gone before chelation, Im sure he's not miraculously "outgrowing" autism coincedently during the one month we decided to try chelation, what more proof do the people need?

My Autistic and recently diagnosed severely mentally retarded son had tests that were negative for mercury poisoning and a 9.9 for lead poisoning which, according to his phisian were not high enough to warrant any treatment, treatment is only offered when there is a level of above 35 in the state I live in and many others. I decided to follow my instinct and start chelation. After the first round my 5 yr old son had a normal bowel movement for the first time in 3 years, and is now after just two rounds learning to dress himself, brush his teeth, put on his seatbelt, and beginning to shake his head yes and no, he is even beginning to toilet train, if any of you know what severely mentally retarded means, then you know this is a HUGE improvement! You shouldn't advise against it until you've tried it, there are plenty of safe chelation methods, just because a couple kids have died from it doesn't mean all chelation is unsafe or unnessecary, it can be the missing peice for many Autistic children who are not progressing, and with my sons diagnosis I figured it couldn't hurt and in fact has only helped tremendously. I believe if we went for a new diagnosis he would be moderately mentally retarded now after only two rounds of chelation.
