Dr. Pepper & Guns N’ Roses: Thanks for the Laugh!

I don’t know what’s cracking me up the most:
A. Dr. Pepper people thought everyone in America could log on to their website within 24 hours to print off a coupon for a free can of soda.
B. The website crashed (of course), and some people are very upset they didn’t get a free soda. And they’re blaming Guns N’ Roses.
C. Guns N’ Roses is so worried about the debacle that they hired a lawyer and are threatening to sue Dr. Pepper if fans aren’t taken care of. (Read more at CNN: Guns N’ Roses lashes out at Dr. Pepper)
Let me back up a bit.
Dr. Pepper, for unknown reasons, said they’d give everyone in America a free soda if the band released “Chinese Democracy,” their sixth studio album.
Of course, the 24-hour-coupon-printing window was silly. The Pepper tried to make amends, but some fans are still bitter and soda-less.
Do you think the marketing genius behind the free soda is a little red in the face about right now? Either way, it gave me a good laugh today. And laughter is good for you. So, thanks Dr. Pepper!
PS – I have to admit to actually liking a few Guns N’ Roses songs from way back. Let’s see… Patience and Sweet Child O’ Mine. Don’t ask me why. I have no idea, and you’ll never hear me speak of it again.
