This is the 5th page of my daughter’s ABC Album. E is for Entertain. Cute.
Journaling:
As parents to an only child, we have found these sure-fire ways to entertain YOU and keep you busy:
Let you HELP with household chores. Youre at that age when you are still eager to help with the household chores and especially love it when you can help Mum whenever I’m cooking or baking. INVITE your friends over. TRIPS to the beach or the river so you can wade in the water, throw stones around, build sand castles and/or feed the ducks. It doesnt cost us a thing but the thrill you get out of it is priceless! If you don’t feel like going out, we let you PLAY with the sprinkler/hose at home on a hot summer’s day. When you get tired of that, you ride your pushbike, scooter, motorised bike, use your rollerblades. Or we encourage you to READ a book on a cold winter’s day. On a so-so kind of weather, we let you harass your PET cat, Pickles. Poor cat! We allotted part of the veggie GARDEN that you can tend to. You take a lot of pride on your produce. Whenever we pick a lettuce or any veggie from the garden, youd ask Was that from MY veggie garden, Mummy?” We encourage the ARTist in you and let you sketch, paint, and write stories all day long. We post this on the fridge or on your pin board and you loved it! We enrolled you in ACTIVITIES you enjoy such as gymnastics, swimming and violin. If you get cranky from a late night OR because you are bored OR because you don’t get your way… We REMIND you of all the techie gadgets you have received over the years so you can use them — the XBOX, TV, the computer, the Gameboy Advance SP — so many things to choose from!
Timesaving tip:
I particularly enjoyed doing this layout. It was quite easy. It only took me a little over an hour. Last night, I thought about the design and had a sketch in my head for this particular layout so all I had to do when I sat down in my craft area tonight was to implement the plan. No, I did not spend any time browsing through the magazines again. If I did, I would’ve gotten confused and overwhelmed again with all the inspiring layouts out there and end up not finishing anything at all.
