Easy Snacking from Food Network

I was poking around the Food Network site this morning and saw that they now have a section just for snacking!

We’ve made Giada’s cheese popcorn before, with Pecorino Romano and Parmesan cheeses, and loved it. I think popcorn made in a pan on the stove always tastes the best but it works well with a popcorn maker too. (I’ve also got one of those Whirly popcorn makers that helps a lot because you don’t have to lift and shake a heavy pan.)

Their section on healthy snacking is great for the upcoming New Year — though I don’t make specific resolutions I do like to pick up on good habits whenever I can!

I also found 16 snacks that are easy to dress up with a few tips and maybe a quick trip to the store. Things like dark honey and almonds in yogurt (oh my), pitas and hummus (my favorite), and popcorn tossed with olive oil instead of better make me glad grocery day is tomorrow!

What are some ways you kick up your snacking? Do you have any unusual preferences?

After a week with family here, I have to unequivocally say that I like salty much better than sweet. I had no idea that some of the icky, sweet, stick, emply caloried foods exsisted!
I will take a bag of salty chips over a bag of assorted sweet candy anyday.

So I guess I am weird, but I do not like sweets and apparently that is weird?
