Eco Festivals in the US This Weekend

Here are a couple of Eco-Festivals taking place this weekend in the US…

The first is called the Green Festival, an event put on by Global Exchange and Co-op America, and is being held in Washington, DC at the Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $15 at the door and get this, if you ride your bike to the event, you’ll get $5 off admission and receive free valet bike parking service. Here’s their web page here if you’re interested in seeing the kinds of speakers and exhibitors that’ll be there. This group also has a similar event slated to happen in San Francisco this coming Nov 5th and 6th.

The other event that I’m aware of is the Solar Fiesta! Put on by the New Mexico Solar Energy Association, the Fiesta is happening at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, NM, also on Saturday and Sunday. Entrance to the exhibit grounds is just $3, a one-day workshop pass is $30 and a weekend workshop pass is $50. This event is considered to be New Mexico’s premier renewable energy and environmental educational fair, featuring 50 exhibits and 30 workshops focussed on the practical uses of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and many other sustainable living practices.
