Have you ever tried bamboo fabric or yarn? It’s becoming more available lately, and I just found out about a new use for it:

Fairfield (the company that makes Poly-fil) is now producing a bamboo and organic cotton batting. Bamboo is a great enviromentally-friendly fiber – and it’s lovely to work with. It can grow as much as one yard per day and doesn’t require as many pesticides as cotton does, or the use of petrochemicals – like polyester batting does.
I haven’t personally had a chance to use the bamboo batting, but I’ve heard from several textile artists who are very happy with the way it handles. There’s even a gallery of fiber art made with the batting!

good news indeed!
Awesome! Thanks for this info. I love to quilt and will definitely try the bamboo batting.
I have tried this batting twice. It is really nice to machine quilt on. It feels just like cotton. I just finished a quilt and used the quilt on the couch. It it warm, soft and nice. Will definitely use this batting.
I would love to try the bamboo batting, but haven’t found it yet. A friend told our qult group it was softer than any of the cotton batting she had used for her machine quilting. My question is, where is the bamboo coming from, I thought our beautiful Pandas had a shortage of arrow bamboo?
If you like the 50/50 Bamboo batting, you are really missing out on the 100 % Bamboo it is soft and great to quilt on. Contact Winline Textile products 1-800-945-9873 Tell them Michelle sent you. Everyone how has come into my shop and felt it is changing to it, they seem to be very happy with it.
