Edwards & McCain

My husband, Jeremy
Tracee: You mean his affair?
Jeremy: Yeah, I guess this means he’s out for Vice President.
Tracee: Why would he be out? John McCain cheated on his wife. He’s up for President.
Jeremy: There’s no way they’re going to pick Edwards now. He cheated on his wife. She has cancer.
Tracee: John McCain’s wife was permanently crippled after a terrible accident and she WAITED for him while he was a POW in the war and he cheated on her many times and then he left her and married a trophy bride one month after he divorced her. And no one seems to care or to think this would ever prevent him from being President.
Jeremy: But that was 30 years ago.
Tracee: So what? I’ve seen no indication that the guy has gone through some kind of awakening.
Jeremy: Don’t you think people should care that Edwards cheated on his wife who’s dying of cancer?
Tracee: Of course people should care. But if philandering disqualifies a candidate from one party, it should disqualify a candidate from the other party too. It’s a double standard. A double standard that seems to ironically only help the party that has held itself up with its “moral superiority” for the last decade. Until it’s their own guy and then it seems to be irrelevant.

I think it sucks that they both cheated and that they did it when their partners were in a particularly low point. Cheating sucks.
When it comes to politics, I think it shows a lack of honor and trustworthiness in their character. When they lie about it, it compounds this.
I bet we’d be hard pressed to find any politician who hasn’t had an affair at some point in their life – doesn’t matter which party.
I bet Hillary hasn’t – I’m just saying. I’m a little sick of hearing about one MAN after another MAN have to keep apologizing for this on TV.
Couldn’t agree more with you, my mind has been boggled over this very argument for days now.
So true (the above conversation) I’m baffled that noone seems to know..or just doesn’t care about McCain’s past. The same people who raked Clinton over the coals. (Bill that is)
It’s sickening.
And, I could give two rat’s behinds if they did or didn’t “lie” about it. An affair, is a lie in and of itself. After it’s been done lying to the public about it doesn’t make it any better or worse to me. I’m sick of people saying Clinton had an affair and then he LIED to US! I’m like, us? What about his WIFE?
Yeah – you know what they say about trophy brides . . . men are always faithful to the ones they cheated with . . .
