Emergency planning for those who are pregnant or have young children

Hurricanes, floods, fires, earthquakes – and any other disaster you can think of – may require quick and effective evacuation. This can be stressful enough when you have just yourself to worry about, but even more so if you’re pregnant or if you have young children.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States has taken this into consideration and has come up with this emergency planning guide: Emergency Planning Tips If You’re Pregnant or Have Young Children.

Even if you don’t live in an area that would normally require evacuations, it’s helpful to know what to expect and what to plan for anyway because we never really do know what life will throw our way.
