Empowering Women Carnival

Somehow, I feel really connected to other women who want to empower women as a whole. It would seem that this would be obvious, but surely you’ve noticed how envy and/or competition and/or judgement might get in the way of feeling connected to other women?
A Modern Goddess Online hosts a great Empowering Women Carnival, which are my sentiments exactly, so I submit. I am flattered to be chosen as one of five submitters to be chosen with my article, Influence the Collective Conscience of Girlness, in which I encourage people to become mentors. No really, you do have power to change someone’s life. You do, you do, yes you, why not you?
Also included is a great Law of Attraction story, 7 Lies That Prevent Positive Results over at You Deserve More. Some of these are so obvious it’s a wonder any of us still do them. I mean, duh. Impatience (guilty), Procrastination (guilty), Apathetic (guilty), Complaining(SO guilty), Negative Perceptions (guilty), Poor Self Valuing (guilty), Vague Goals and No Plan (somewhat guilty). But, these are all things that can be worked on so there is hope.
Welcome Joy has an article, Spend Time With People That Appreciate You, that is very reflective of some of my recent sentiments. Her advice too seems obvious, now that I’ve spent 30 years trying to figure it out. Until recently I thought spending time on people who do not appreciate me and who take me for granted or are outright rude and dismissive of me was going to somehow win me points in heaven or something. Wrong. There is no valor in being a major co-dependent. People have a right to live in their own misery if they want to. They don’t need my participation to get on with it.
I love Welcome Joy’s tips, they seem so obvious, but I have been doing exactly the opposite and just lowering my expectations of friends and family for many years. What a bad idea if I want happiness to result, what a bad idea if I want anything but frustration from my relationships. What a huge waster of my time. Are you wasting your time and energy on people who don’t appreciate it?
Thank you Modern Goddess for including me.

You’re welcome. I love what you’re doing here so you should be celebrated.
Thanks for the mention too.
