Enduring Love

I spent the Easter holiday with my brother’s family.  While there we talked about the post that I wrote about Greg and Bailey. It came up after we found the kids cuddling on the couch with their cell phones.

Mom said to me, I want one of those (a cute boy) and I thought, well I’ve got one, but what I need is to see him, so we are sort of in the same boat. Anyway…….

Shawna and her mother are both happily married, but their men are maybe not in the wooing stage anymore, so the whole wiping the face with a tissue thing no longer comes up. They both said something along the lines of “I wish I still had that.”

The thing is, they still do. Both husbands are always aware of where their wives are. I could see my brother looking for Shawna, visibly relaxing when he found her.  They’ve been together since they were 15 years old and were very much like Bay and Greg in their young love, although maybe a tad more with the PDA.

Both husbands hug and kiss their wives, reaffirming that bond throughout the day. Here she is, here’s my girl. Maybe it’s not that grand romantic gesture, but ….well, no, it is that grand romantic gesture.

Together for years, these people are still very much in love. Sometimes it’s the quiet touches that speak the loudest.

I know exactly what you mean. I’m out there trying to find that special relationship too, the kind of love that can mature into something calm, comforting, and peaceful, but it’s tough. I’ve been trying the whole online dating thing for a while now, and so far the best luck I’ve had is with People2People, but I still haven’t found that special person. Sigh . . .

Well, here’s hoping I can find that “quiet touch” in ‘09!

I hope that you find it, Idate. :D My boyfriend, he says that about the calm and peaceful feeling. I love hearing that I make him feel that way.

I havent’ heard of People2People. I need to look into that one. Might be something to write about here.
