Essential Antioxidants V8 Juice

V8 Antioxidants

I was over at the V8 website because I wanted to check which vegetables the “8″ stands for (tomatoes, carrots, celery, beets, parsley, lettuce, watercress and spinach , if you must know), and noticed that they’ve renamed the A-C-E Vitamin Rich V8 to Essential Antioxidants V8 Vegetable Juice.

A-C-E is out. Antioxidants is in. Even if they are one and the same.

Plus points to their marketing staff. (rolls eyes)

Well, I grabbed this V8 instead of the usual specifically because it said “Antioxitants” on the label. (I’m such a gullible consumer!) But, I think that any of the varieties of V8 are a good choice since they all offer such a great nutritional punch. My only concern is the sodium level in the regular varieties, and I have to keep an eye on the sodium I take in for the rest of the day. (I know, I know. They have a low-sodium version. But, it’s yucky IMO. Tomato minus salt of some kind = blah.)

Actually you don’t need to monitor your salt intake unless you are sodium intolerant. It’s just a myth. see- http://www.health-report.co.uk/sodium_chloride_salt_myths1.html. If you do have doctor directed sodium restriction, that is a different story.
