The CDC wants you to take notice. Many Americans have become complacent about the threat of HIV in the US. However, the truth is that every 9.5 minutes, someone new in America has contracted HIV.
According to the CDC, more than 1 million people in the US are living with HIV, but one in five people aren’t aware they’re infected.

ACT against AIDS is the name of the new CDC campaign, and important information is available online at NineAndaHalfMinutes.org. Besides tackling the complacent attitudes about HIV in America, the campaign also hopes to encourage HIV testing.
Getting tested for HIV is important because the sooner treatment can begin, the less impact HIV will have. Also, people with an HIV diagnosis can better protect their partners. You can call 1-800-CDC-INFO for assistance in locating an HIV testing center, or enter your ZIP online.
Have you delayed HIV testing?
