Extra Chewing Gum Fast Freebie #3

June 20, 2008 by Hope Wilbanks

This is my final Fast Freebie for the week. Ready….Set….GO!

The Biggest Loser contestants chew Extra gum to help manage caloric intake. Chewing sugar-free gum, like Extra, can greatly reduce the amount of calories you consume each day. It can also be helpful in curbing your cravings for snacks as well.

In fact, researchers at the Mayo Clinic discovered that chewing gum can burn around 11 calories per hour. While this might not sound like much, think about the greater number of calories you’re preventing yourself from eating, just by chewing a piece of gum.

To win this final Extra chewing gum Fast Freebie, answer the following question. Your comment must include a full response to my question below. Only your first entry will count. A winner will be randomly selected from the first 10 people who reply in the comments below.

What is your favorite craving that always costs you in calories or Points? Name the food and tell how many calories or Points it always costs you, and why you are willing to trade it for a piece of Extra sugar-free chewing gum.

**Contest ends at 6pm CST**

The craving that costs me the most in calories or points is cake! I love cake of all sorts, but especially Little Debbie’s Zebra Cakes. They are about 320 calories, which totally screws up my Points because they also have 15g of fat.

This is 8 points, so eating one pack of Zebra Cakes is about 1/3 of my points for a day!

I’m willing to give up Zebra Cakes because I want to lose more weight and feel better about my health!

  2. Oh my word! Tell me about it, girl! I love Zebra cakes, too. I couldn’t tell you when the last time was I had one though. Kudos to you for giving them up! Maybe you can have just one every now and then, as a treat for doing so well. :)
