Fabric Beads
I came home to find my daughter painting small rolls of fabric with intricate designs. They were about 1 1/2 inches long, and cylindrical. She had rolled fabric and secured it with an adhesive. This particular day, she used Fabri-Tac. However, Beth says you can use Elmer’s glue, mod podge, and other adhesives.
When dry, paint or add embellishments. Then Beth uses them on various fabric art and mixed media projects.
Fabulous Fabric Beads by Kristal Wicks is one of the books that will give you ideas and instructions for making a variety of fabric beads.
Although I haven’t done any myself, my daughter’s creations have me intrigued. It seems a project that I can pick up whenever I have spare time and doesn’t take a long time to finish.
What have you done with fabric beads?

These are so pretty. Who would ever guess they were made from fabric?!
I love the look of fabric beads. There’s a pattern for using them in the latest Beadwork mag. Might have a go myself.
I am trying to find base metal bead cores to use with the fabric beads. Anyone???? I cannot afford the sterling ones yet.
