Fabulous Hair Accessory

I found this fantastic hair accessory at a street festival this summer. It’s a flexible pretty beaded barrette that can make a pony tail, French twist, bun, half-up and half-down, and any other up-do you can think of. In two seconds.
They are not tacky, ugly or awkward like the plastic claw. They are beautiful; therefore I look glamorous, even when I work out, because I’m wearing this pretty beaded hair accessory rather than a boring, sloppy pony tail elastic.
One of my blessings is that I have really, really thick long hair. I’m very grateful. But, the side effect is that in the summer time I feel like I’m wearing a wool hat. So I don’t wear it down.
You may remember that a former boss of mine (read: mean girl) had a problem with me wearing my hair up. That was before it looked so glamorous with my Flexi-8. They are kind of pricey for a barrette. I didn’t buy one the first year I saw them at the festival. But, this year I shelled out $18 for one barrette! I don’t regret it one bit because I hate putting effort into my hair, but love looking like I did my hair. I wear it almost every single day so it’s worth it.

Tracee: I wanted to thank you for sharing the Flexi-8 with your peeps. This darned clip is really one of the best alternative accessories out there. I know this ’cause I get tons of feedback from my customers. What most women don’t know is that is flexible, one-piece and I have six different sizes, from Mini to Extra Large so it really does work in any thickness of hair.
Thanks again for the bump, I am grateful.

Remember the ones we had made of fabric and wire where you could roll your hair into a bun, and then take it down at the end of the day and have curls. I lost mine. Let me know when you find one of those! In the meantime, I’ll have to try this.
Stacks,
I still had one left but it didn’t match anything. So I bought some craft wire and black scrap fabric and made some more. It was really easy. I’ll make you some and send them to you next time I get my sewing machine out.
Also, I gave the guy whose making these barrettes the permission to run with the idea – not that I invented them or anything. But, I too have looked and looked and can’t find them. I was wearing one at the street festival when I bought this cool barrette.
