You don't see a benefit in reconnecting with old friends? I've enjoyed talking to quite a few old friends in the past couple of years. As for benefits, I dated one for a year and a half and my two best friends are girls that I was friends with as a teen. Not ever life experience is going to bring a benefit, though. Some are just experiences for experience sake.

Found your question in my feed list (Marriage Actually) and it made me recall a similar post I did 3 years ago, wherein I ask the question "Have you ever Googled an ex?"

http://whatsit2you.blogspot.com/2006/03/you-never-know-what-you-might-find.html

Prior to that post, and ever since, I've not found myself wondering about the people in my past. So other than this one exercise, I don't see any benefit to seek anyone out.

I google my exes on a regular basis. Mostly so that I can feel better about myself for not having gone the distance with them. Most of them were/are losers.
