… but it doesn’t have to be!

You probably know about Breaking the Mirror’s “24 Hours of Body Love” challenge (volunteers are still needed!  No reason to be shy — send me those photos pronto!) as well as the “Fall in Love… with Yourself!” contest…

but…

…with V-Day (a.k.a. February 14) so close, I thought it’d be a good time to remind all my readers that you absolutely deserve to care about YOU

Therefore, I’m offering a cute lil’ button (see below) to every person who comments on this post.  All you have to do is drop by and say “Howdy” or “Hey there”, and I’ll send you a copy of the image (which is saved as a .png, by the way.)

It’s time to get rid of the bad stuff that’s holding you down and envelop yourself in some much-needed happiness!  Write to Breaking the Mirror today!

    Hi there,

I was talking to a few friends who are in relationships but are not celebrating Valentine’s Day because they love their partner everyday and yada yada yada its just a waste of money. I agree. When you love someone, you do love them everyday…but it’s nice to just celebrate the love. It got me to thinking about if I could truthfully say I love myself everyday. Or even most days… And I guess that’s why I love the holiday…most holidays really, because I can take a moment and be really good to myself. Even though this year will be celebrated alone as it has been for…well forever, I’m really excited about celebrating the love I have for myself and my family and friends. I’m not sure what Ill do…buy myself flowers, treat myself to lunch, take a walk on the trail, or buy myself something really pretty. And none of those things actually means that I love myself…but doing something that will bring a smile to my face and hopefully encourage me to do it on a regular basis does.

So it’s a little early, but Happy Valentine’s Day Angelique (and to all the BtM readers.)

We also do not celebrate Valentine’s Day among the people I know.
The celebration around the day is just another occassion to consume.
But I trust many, many thousands of people celebrate it in a more realistic way.
Your contest is one of those ways.
