Famous Olympic Adoptees: Scott Hamilton
Olympic Figure Skater Scott Hamilton was adopted by Dorothy and Ernest Hamilton when he was six weeks old. He has two adopted siblings.
He is the 1984 gold medalist and the first American male to medal in figure skating since 1960. He also holds four World Championships and four U.S. Championships.
After winning the Olympics Hamilton turned professional and toured with the Ice Capades, Stars on Ice, and has worked for NBC and CBS as a commentator.
However, Hamilton has been dealt with his share of health issues. When he was two he stopped growing (a diet and exercise helped restart the growth), he had testicular cancer in 1997, and a benign brain tumor in 2004.
He is married and has two children.
