Wonder what blog Fashionistas are talking about?

Wonder no more, just visit The Fabulous! Festival of Fashion and find out. This month it’s hosted by It’s All About Appearances.

Bouncing around the carnival I discovered an interesting thesis on Pin-Up art by a female pinup artist Tali at The Pinup Shop Blog. She explains the history of damsel in distress pinup art and why it’s not commonly depicted in neo-pinups today.

For Valentine’s Day you might consider having a pin-up portrait of yourself painted for your Valentine. Tali, the pin-up artist, takes orders online.

You can also order 97 valentines gifts from shirts to doggy coats of the above original design.

It’s funny, I can’t decide if it’s offensive. She said it illustrates our Love/Hate relationship with the upcoming holiday.

It is an apt illustration of that.

  1. Thanks for the link to the festival — and for submitting your posts!

And thanks for linking to that page on pinups. I find the subject quite fascinating.
