Father’s Day Gift Ideas – Hand-Sewn Ties

Father’s Day is just around the corner – do you need some sewing or craft ideas for a gift for your dad?

Does your Dad wear ties?  Why not make him his very own hand-sewn, custom made tie?

Ties really aren’t all that difficult to make – in fact, I sewed a couple of ties for myself when I was showing horses as a teenager.  The most important thing is to pay attention to the grain line and the angles.

The Purl Bee has a fantastic step-by-step tutorial for creating your own tie.  I think this tutorial is actually better than the instructions that tie patterns come with!
