Feasting on Asphalt 2: The River Run

In 5 days Alton Brown returns with his hit Summer series, Feasting on Asphalt. This time they are starting at the Gulf of Mexico in Mississippi and following the roads that bring you up the Great Mississippi River.
Alton Brown and his crew are mounting their steely steeds once again and scouring the American landscape for honest road food. This time they will trace America’s first superhighway: the Mississippi from the Gulf of Mexico to its Minnesota birthplace. Freeways (with their palate dulling sameness) will of course be eschewed in favor of back, side, dirt and forgotten roads and the one of a kind foods, folks and stories to which they inevitably lead.
To get a preview go to the Food Network site and watch some clips from his trip. Alton Brown’s website has a spot dedicated to the trip. This time due to time restrictions on the road, he didn’t blog, but the site has a lot of information about places and products from the trip.
Don’t forget to set your DVR’s for Saturday, August 4 at 9pm EST for Feasting on Asphalt 2: The River Run.
