FedEx KinkoWhile there has been a ton of mainstream press in regards to Whole Foods Market announcing that they’re going 100% wind power (see Mr Gunther’s post hereWay to go, Shea!), another big US corp also announced a commitment to boost their green power use today.

Although not on the scale of the Whole Foods deal, FedEx Kinko’s is going to increase their already respectable renewable energy use to 100 new locations across the US, raising the company’s total green power use by 67.5 percent to an estimated 40 million kilowatt-hours per year.

With this announcement, FedEx Kinko’s now buys renewable energy equivalent to about 14 percent of its total electrical needs nationwide. 404 – or more than 30 percent – of their US retail locations are presently purchasing green juice or renewable energy certificates.

Is this the start of a trend, corporate America? Let’s get this show on the road!
