feelings

I am sure you all know what it feels like to be dealt an emotional blow when dealing with CFS/FM. A crisis happens at work, fighting with a family member, an ex boyfriend who is playing head games, or even a news article that you have read that feels too close to home; it can seem impossible to deal with.
I wish I had a solution for the emotional stresses, that we deal with. The only ones that I know of, are writing in a journal or a blog (which is the reason for this post), getting plenty of rest, fresh air, and trying to eat properly (which means no chocolate, ice cream, or martinis). If you have a couple of close girlfriends, maybe you could invite them over for a little girl-time.
Most of all, tackling these problems head on will do the most good. Do that wisely, though. Make a list of how you want to take on the problem, and make an action plan. Slow action, can be effective action. Its the not doing that will make us feel even worse.
If you have any ideas that you think will help, please share. We can all use the help.

Laura – you hit the nail on the head with this one. The only thing I can add is to reflect on what is really bothering us about a stressful situation. That usually lights the way to my solution. Having clarity about what the problem really is, and pursuing the true solution, helps counteract the frustration of not being able to DO.
Hi Jennie,
Thats a great suggestion! You are totally right about being frustrated for the not being able to act, thing. Unfortunately when I am having a rough day, its VERY difficult to think clearly, which is why I do the slow action thing. Andsometimes just acknowledging a situation, will help you come up with a plan of action or non action.
