Finding Good Photo Prompts

I receive all kinds of email newsletters, as I’m sure you do. Some I give a quick glance over and others I almost ignore. Yesterday I discovered a website I have been ignoring. For some reason the description of their photo challenge theme for January caught my eye. The Photographer’s Life is about selling an online course, but there’s a lot there for anyone who wants to spend time looking. Loads of tips on how to take better photos, if you’re interested, but I was particularly inspired by the photos I viewed from the hall of fame.

Find info on the photo contest to learn more and check out this month’s challenge to see photos as they’re submitted. I think these are an excellent visual tool for journal writing prompts. If you’d like more photos and images have a look at Digital Photography School, too, especially the weekly assignments submitted by forum members. There are some gorgeous purple ones there right now.

Searching google for photography tips is another way to find great photos for journal writing prompts. Please keep in mind copyright restrictions if you want to use any of these photos on your blogs, though.

Here’s a new blog with daily photo prompts.
They do help greatly to inspire creativity. And, anyone can benefit from children to adults, writers to bloggers.

    Thank you for your article.

  2. Hi Kim,
Thanks so much for the link. I’ll definitely be over for a look. Thanks for letting me know. ;-)

Thank you for posting my “shameless” promotional
comment :) I never realized how “competive” I am until I started blogging. But, it really is a good site….(lol)

  4. Hi KIm,
Actually, I don’t mind at all if the link is related or very useful to my readers, which your link definitely was. I’m glad you decided to be competitive. Anyway, I just delete or don’t approve anything I feel steps over the line. Thanks again. ;-)
