First A Swimsuit, Now A Bikini

Remember the solar swimsuit? Guess what? There’s a solar bikini now!

Yes, and I thought it was a joke at first. But I guess not. I would not be surprised if next time there would be a whole line of solar pieces of clothing – from jackets to gowns to tuxedos, to everything else in between.

Anyhow, this solar bikini is a creation of Andrew Schneider and he says that this piece of clothing is part of the iDrink line that he has done. This bikini comes in medium and it is covered with small photovoltaic film panels. There is a USB connector in one end so you can just plug in your gadget for some juice while you frolic in the waves. What would be the use of those solar film panels if you don’t get to juice up your iPod or your mobile phone maybe?

Although this piece of summer clothing is not in the market yet and is currently still a concept, it would be interesting if this one gets in the mainstream. I wonder who’s going to buy ‘em?
