First the appendix from the mouth – now the vagina?

Almost two weeks ago, I posted about a new technique of removing an inflamed appendix – through the mouth (Virtually scar-free and pain-free appendectomies?). Well, not to be outdone, surgeons in San Diego successfully removed a woman’s appendix through her vagina: Appendix.
Obviously, this surgery would be limited to only part of the human population, but if such appendectomies are successful and become more popular, whether through the mouth or the vagina, people will experience less pain and fewer lost days of work or school, and they will require fewer medical and health resources. A win-win situation all around.

Neat! I’d love not to have my old-fashioned (non-laparoscopic) appendix scar (even if it does go nicely with the C-section scar).
I know what you mean, but something about this just gives me the heebie-jeebies!!
