Five Ways to Use a Teacup

I don’t know how it happens. All of a sudden, there are a ton of unmatched tea cups in my house. Not rare, valuable ones. Just pretty little china cups and the occasional matching saucer. It’s not like they have feet like my beloved Carlton Ware teacups and can walk in on their own, but there they are! When I moved a stack of cups from one shelf in my art studio to another to get to the supplies I wanted for the fifth time, I decided I needed to use up some of them or get rid of them.

Here are a few ways you can use teacups in your home:
- Make a pincushion. I made a few of these for Christmas gifts last year, but my cup pile replentished itself!
- Serve desserts like jello or pudding in mismatched cups for a quirky touch at a dinner party.
- Organize small craft items, like buttons or charms, in a row of cups.
- Plant mini African violets or ferns in cups to give as cute hostess gifts.
- Tidy a desk. Use one teacup for rubber bands, one for paper clips, etc.
Do you have a great use for mismatched teacups?

I saw a friend do this at her house. I don’t know how she did it, but it was a darling look. She somehow glued the teacup to a saucer at a specific angle (mismatched) and then somehow hung the thing on the wall and placed a tea light in each one. She had these running down a back hall way. Very cool looking.
Roxie,
That sounds adorable. I once glued a cup and saucer to each part of a metal candle stand. (I cut off the tealight holders that it came with first.)
