Flu Season Approaches… Part 2

Just as I suspected, The flu shot that I received Saturday made me slightly sick yesterday and I had to leave work a little early. It started in the morning when I woke up with a faint headache. Then when I got to work I felt kinda week and started feeling muscle aches which was kinda weird cause I thought it may just be some soreness from my workout…but I didn’t workout since Monday and I wasn’t all that sore on Tuesday. Around lunchtime I started feeling a bit sick to my stomach and really weak.
My stomach felt better by the time I left work but my neck started getting really stiff and I was getting congested. Honestly it was the strangest flu symptoms I have ever felt from a flu shot. I felt much better this morning after a good nights sleep, some motrin and some comtrex night-time.
What I’m really trying to get at here is the question a lot of people ask. “Can the flu shot make you sick?”. I have heard that it depends on what flu shot you get and I think that is correct. Now I don’t know exactly what shot Blue Cross Blue Shield gave me but I felt fine after that one, but the shot the U.S.Army National Guard gave me but I get sick from every flu shot I have ever got from them.
