If you’re finding yourself having very vivid dreams, being more forgetful, feeling depressed or unable to sleep, welcome to the pregnancy club. These mental symptoms aren’t unusual. But, while they’re relatively common, they’re not usually talked about like the physical issues you encounter.
I remember with my three pregnancies, one of the first signs I was pregnant was the incredibly vivid dreams I would have. As my pregnancies progressed, the dreams became increasingly violent and shocking – not to mention disturbing. Then, sure as the sun rises, as soon as I delivered, the dreams went away.
I came across a very interesting over at iParenting: The Mental Symptoms of Pregnancy. Dr. Shoshana Bennett, a clinical psychologist and author of Pregnant on Prozac (GPP Life, 2008), discusses the mental effects of pregnancy. Have a look and tell us what you think. Do you have any of the problems described?
