Former first cat Socks has found a final resting place. Some of Socks’ ashes were spread in the garden of the Little Rock, Ark governor’s mansion. Arkansas first lady Ginger Beebe read a poem she composed in honor of Socks.
The former first cat is pictured below in a photo dated 1994. Mighty handsome. . .

The urn which carried Socks’ ashes is being stored at the Clinton Presidential Library.
Socks was born in 1989, and he moved into the White House with the Clintons a few years later. The very beautiful and photogenic first kitty died of cancer earlier this year.
Does it make you a little sad there’s no cat in the White House now? Do you think the Obama family should adopt a cat?
