Four random organizing tips for the kitchen

1. Place a Lazy Susan (or a couple) on your cooking and baking shelves. You can easily see spices this way and stuff like cornstarch vs. cornmeal.

2. If you need more counter space in a too-small kitchen, get a rolling island that’s longer but thin enough to tuck beside a wall OR a nice fold-up kitchen island cart (like the Versatile Flip & Fold Island above). You can roll it out for cooking then roll it back when you’re done.
3. Use wall-mounted solutions for everything from plate shelves to paper towel holders. If you’ve got wall space, use it to the max. (Late we’ll look at some specific wall-mounted kitchen solutions).
4. Keep your kitchen a non-cooking-free zone. Kitchens are prime targets for all sorts of tasks and clutter – bill paying, mail organizing, and car keys. Make it a goal to use your kitchen for kitchen-related stuff only. You can find other places for your other tasks and clutter. With a clutter-free kitchen, meals will go together faster and you’ll have less to clean and organize on cleaning day.

Love that cart!
What’s a lazy Susan then?
A lazy susan is a round (usually) spinning platform. You can place it in a cupboard and it turns so you can find stuff easier.
