Freaky Friday #116

Today isn’t actually Friday. I was busy yesterday, but for the sake of this entry I’ll pretend it is Friday. It will be fun if you can do the same. If you need to know more about this journal writing challenge please read the First Freaky Friday entry.
As I have a child much younger than the older two it makes for interesting life and discussions when I interact with other people. I’m often asked if my youngest is my grandchild and get varying reactions when I tell them he’s my son. One topic that comes up fairly regularly is birth order. I am personally fascinated in this and often wonder how much truth there is in it. I am first born in my family, but have an older adopted brother. I’ve always wondered if that fact changed anything much for me.
Anyway, spend some time in your journal writing about birth order in general. Then swap your birth order to oldest or youngest sibling, or simply to another child if you are an only child. Write as if you are this sibling. How does this alter your perception? Do you sense greater responsibility, less? Does this make you feel different about your relationship with your parents, other siblings? Dig deep into the topic and just see what emerges. I recommend reading the highlighted article on birth order, too.
I hope you enjoy this journal writing challenge. Please leave any comments in the section below.
