Freaky Friday #85

Today is Friday and that means it’s Freaky Friday. If you need to know more about this journal writing challenge please read the First Freaky Friday entry.

Last weekend I watched most of a movie called The Butterfly Effect. I can’t say I honestly enjoyed the film. I did miss parts of it, though. Still, the concept was fascinating; that by changing one moment in your life you would in fact change everything.

I have to use this idea for this week’s Freaky Friday journal writing challenge simply because this is what these journal writing prompts are all about. Take one moment in your life, revisit it by describing what in fact did happen. Now rewrite that event to how you would have liked it to unfold. The final step is to explore what this would have changed in your life. Would your life be any different today if that one event had turned out the way you would have preferred it to? Spend time on this theme. Dig into what steps lead to others in your life and what the final outcome becomes. Don’t overlook how you would deal with these changes, even if they had been fact at the time.

Perhaps you might need to watch the film first. Read some reviews in the link to Amazon.com given above. This will prepare you in case you don’t like disturbing stories, as this one definitely is. The main character, played by Ashton Kutcher, keeps a journal, which should make it interesting enough. I hope you enjoy this journal writing challenge.

Interesting and fun. Tracee from Blog Fabulous stopping by to say hey to all my new Lifestyle Channel neighbors.

I flashed to being 17 and deciding to get married rather than move to Maryland alone to be a nanny.

What would have hapened if I could rewrite it is that I would have gotten on a plane and really lived an adventure of independence.

It’s easy to pretend that my life wouldn’t have led to the same place – but, it may have just been rerouted to this place.

Same kids and current husband and career – I like it.

  2. Hi Tracee,
Thanks for the comment & welcome to the neighbourhood. Lol, I like that you’d be happy if you’d ended up at the same place. It shows you’ve got a great outlook on your life. Thanks again for responding. ;-)
