Free Compact fluorescent light bulbs

Delaware officials unveiled an energy conservation program wherein they will hand out 2 free energy saving lightbulbs to residents.
Compact Fluorescent bulbs produce less heat and use 66 percent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs. A fluorescent bulb uses 13 watts of electricity to produce light equal to the output of a regular 60-watt bulb.
Around our house we are already using these compact fluorescent bulbs. They really last long. It’s already been 2 years and we haven’t replaced any of our compact fluorescent bulbs.
“We want everyone to take advantage of it,” said Gov. Ruth Ann Minner, a long-time supporter of household energy-saving measures. “It reduces your electric costs. No question about that. Everyone needs to work to conserve energy and to protect the environment.”
In fact, this is just part of a bigger project. Soon, grants ranging from $250 to $100 will be available for homeowners who choose to buy Energy Star-rated appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines and water heaters with a limit of up to $500 per household.
