Yes, I will totally admit to having babies on the brain right now
Hey, I only have a few weeks left, so I need to get my baby sewing in before the little guy is here!
I’ve found so many useful patterns and how-tos online for making everything from simple hats to diapers, toys to elaborate baby books. I’ve gathered a few of my favorites together for you – and hopefully will save you some time while searching online.

- The world’s simplest baby hat pattern – why spend $10 on a teensy little scrap of jersey when you can make a custom one?
- Want to make your own cloth diapers? This site has tutorials for making everything from a basic pre-fold to fancy all-in-ones. They also have a diaper fabric & accessories shop.
- Moby-style wraps are about the easiest baby carriers to make - here’s an explanation of how to make and wear one.
- If you’d prefer to make a ring sling instead, this site has a great how-to.
- Purl Bee has 20 different baby projects, from knitted blankets to adorable clothing.
- Ribbon tag blankets and toys are popular baby gifts, but you don’t need to spend a lot of money buying one, here’s a pattern to make your own.
- Are you an upcycler? Why not use an old wool sweater and make your own soakers?
- And if you need a pair of maternity jeans, but don’t really want to spend a whole lot of $$$, Craftster has a tutorial for adding a stretchy panel to a pair of your own jeans.
