I got a few emails after the last post from people who took offense to one of the comments that was made in regards to stereotypes for manual labor. Perhaps I shouldn’t have let that comment through, or should have suggested that the person edit it. I do want to encourage everyone to voice their opinions on this blog, so as it was I did let the comment remain but chose to defend it for all those who emailed me rather than commenting themselves.
I will continue to write about issues where people may argue. But in the future I won’t let comments through that name call or use nasty stereotypes. There’s simply no reason for it. You can voice your opinion without doing that. You can disagree without doing that.
I think it’s important to remember that the people who read this blog come from different walks of life. We all have different jobs, different opinions, different backgrounds. Anyone that feels they are “above” someone else that may read this blog is simply foolish. We’re all just trying to do our best when it comes to raising families, dealing with the changing economy, and balancing our work and home life. We can learn from each other, but only if we open our minds.
