Freedom Writers the Movie

Last night I finally got a chance to watch Freedom Writers. I’ve been blogging about these students and Erin Gruwell since November 2005. I’ve also wanted to see the film since October last year. The book they created The Freedom Writers Diary inspired the film. While I’m sure there are moments where the movie might romanticise the truth, it’s still an effective movie.
I especially enjoyed the voices of the students reading what they wrote in their diaries. For me that was the highlight. I’ve yet to read the book, so those glimpses made watching the entire film worthwhile. Please share in the comments section if you’ve seen the film. I’d love to read what your thoughts are. Any movie about journal & diary writing brings excitement for this journal addict.
