Friends with Benefits Are Complicated

A recent study in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, though, says mixing sex with friendship may concoct a more complicated brew than Seinfeld ever suspected.
Sex frequently makes friendship more difficult to manage and increases pressure for romantic involvement, the study found. In other words: One person usually wants something more and gets left with a broken heart.
I have to admit, the thought did cross my mind a few times when I was single and dating and even resulted in my engaging in a one time intimate relationship with a “friend” that I never wanted it to progress any further than a ‘friendship.’
It did grow very complicated and in the end, I wound up losing a very good friend of several years because of it.
Do you believe that friends with benefits can actually work? Or do you believe that one of the people involved will always take it a little too personal and become emotionally entangled?
