Frozen Wine for Your Hot Summer

Me and my husband keep talking about getting a snow cone machine. We live in Florida and it gets more than just a little hot during the Summer. We have been lucky so far, the weather has been unseasonably cool for Florida this time of year, but our luck is getting ready to run out.
Since both our son’s birthdays are in August, and since we always have a bunch of kids running around our back yard, a Snow Cone machine seems like a smart idea.
But around about us and all those mom’s & dad’s who come along with their kids? Well, the answer is simple, Frozen Wine.
According to Tammy Powley over at Celebrate Wine a new trend is emerging, Frozen Wine, basically a wine slushy. The alcohol will keep the drink from freezing solid. You add a little fruit, a little juice and some great wine.

Hi Tracey,
I was ready your post on the frozen wine slush, it sounds great. I own a small cafe in a women owned business district in Winter Haven Florida and will be getting a wine license soon, I think I am going to incorporate your idea at my cafe. I thought I would let you know about our secret ingredient at our cafe, you being a foodie and all I think you will really enjoy it. We make a 200 year old recipe from my partners family in the Canary Islands it is called the Canary Island Garlic and Herb Olive Oil and it is a seasoned olive oil that is absolutely out of control delicious, it is fabulous as a bread dip and great on salads and sandwiches. You being in the know about all these savory things, I thought you ought to know about the Splash, ( its nickname since we splash it on everything at our restaurant.) Our restaurant is called Cafe Latte Coffeehouse Bistro we are in Orchid Springs off Overlook Dr. in Winter Haven. Stop by and see us some time, call first we travel a lot and do cooking shows with the Canary island Garlic and HErb olive Oil. 1-863-318-8777.
Hope to see you soon, or maybe at one of our shows, we can swap recipes.
Thanks again for the slush idea,
Kristi LInebaugh
