Fun Food Facebook Apps

It took me a long time to really get into Facebook. It seemed pretty boring and aside from the possibility of getting in touch with old friends (even though many weren’t on it either yet), I didn’t give it much thought. About a year ago one of my sisters re-sent me an invitation and I checked it out again and signed up. I decided to put a little more time into seeing if it was worth it this time around before abandoning ship altogether, and that’s when I stumbled upon the Facebook applications.

Farm Town
Farm Town
The applications that interest me the most are, unsurprisingly, the food-themed ones. With more than 17 million users, Farm Town is so popular it has imitation after imitation popping up behind it. In this game, you’re a farmer raising crops. You plow, plant and harvest, and you can can plant and harvest fruit-bearing trees as well. All the produce can be sold for money, and you can even hire your friends or even strangers to come harvest and plow for you. Crops range from raspberries, which take only two hours to produce fruit, to pumpkins and cotton, which take up to four days. There are a lot of online tips and hints guides too, such as Farm Town Guide, Farm Town Hero, and Farm Addicts.
Restaurant City
Another favorite, though not quite as popular, is Restaurant City. This one’s a lot more passive than Farm Town, and one of the biggest tips you’ll get is to leave the game running in the background — that’s the only way you’ll earn “gourmet points” which allow you to leve, which means more employees (friends) and more restaurant space. Though not as involved as Farm Town, you get to do your own restaurant decorating, which can be especially fun when you need to keep your patrons from leaving when things get a little slow. Restaurant City tips and hints sites can be found at Kitchen Cow, Blog for Noob, and Restaurant City Cheats.
