Fun for Under a Buck

With Spring here and kids coming and going on spring break it is time to start stocking up on the fun things they can do. We’ve been cooped up inside the house due to snow but I’ve been taking advantage of those sells at the stores and the little $1 aisle in the kids toys at Walmart. Here’s a few fun things you can get this week.

Fun Toys at Walmart:
.99 Sidewalk chalk
.99 bubbles
.99 kites
4/$1.00 seeds
.99 gardening tools

After a long winter my kids can’t wait to break for the outdoors and just enjoy the fresh air. I’m sure my oldest two will hit the hoops and ride their bikes but the younger two will want to do other things. They’ll love drawing, especially when they can do it on something besides paper and blowing bubbles is definitely a fun thing… they even do that in the house.  What are some of your children’s favorite (cheap) outside activities?

Here is a recipe to making bubbles:

1/2 cup dishwashing soap (I like Joy and Dawn)
1 cup water
2 tablespoons of glycerin (this helps make the bubbles bigger)

Mix the ingredients together and start blowing bubbles. Have fun blowing bubbles. Do you have a different recipe? What’s yours?

I love all your suggestions. Bubbles and sidewalk chalk are both very popular choices in our household. Thanks for the tips!
