For those of you in the UK or or with other access to the BBC comes a notice from This Is London (Second item in the article):
Gail Porter is to make a TV show about her hair loss.
The presenter, 35, has been left bald by the condition alopecia.
She will explore the condition in a programme for BBC1’s One Life strand, interviewing fellow sufferers and looking at society’s reaction to bald women.
“It’s not just a film about Gail, it’s about what it’s like to be a woman without hair,” executive producer Madonna Benjamin told Broadcast magazine. (link)
Sounds interesting. Can anyone help me out with ideas for getting a copy? I’m one of the those cheap lads across the pond who won’t spring for digital cable.

Hello there,
I am a 24 year old Irish girl who also suffers from alopecia.i have lost my hair twice in 4 years and i know the suffering that people might experience. If there was any way to contact Gail or her management team, i would be eager to do so! I believe there could be alot done to help people (male/female ,young /old) in dealing with this condition. I also believe that someone like Mrs. Porter would be able to get the ball rolling and i would be only willing to help. It would be nice to create something good out of the condition
Hello There.
My name is Andrew Bennett and i have and still suffer from Alopecia. I had a massive bald patch at the back of my head, no hair on arms or legs and also no eyebrows or lashes. I went looking after a cure for ages. My family sheed out lots of money for treatments. I went to BUPA, Chinese remedy place to recieve acupunction in the back of my head. I did find a cure it works for some people but yet it does not work for some. I have now got lots of my hair back and am happy. I used La Biostetic. If you live in Scotland and would like a supllier please contact me by email. Bennett_andrew@hotmail.com. I am not a market reasercher etc etc. I am only someone who can tell you about experience and a possible cure for you.
Emer,
Gail is represented by RDF Management. Contacting them is probably your best bet. Good luck!

I wish I could be of more use getting you in touch with Gail. You’re best bet is to try and contact her thru RDF Management. (Link above in Comment #2.)
Best wishes.
FFS gail cover it up, get a bandana or a wig , yes we all know you have alopecia and you don’t wanna hide the fact, but everyone knows I have an arse hole but don’t wanna see it. Jesus just cover up!!!
How can I get a copy of Gail Porters documentary: One Lufe, Laid Bare?
ken,
You might want to check Amazon.co.uk or the BBC directly. I’m not aware of any outlets in the US.
would love to contact gail. I am 31 and lost all my hair 7 years ago. During two pregnancies it returned only to fall out when each baby was 4 months old. I had some reiki healing and within a month my hair was growing back.
Hi there, my name is Damalie and lost my hair within 14 days in Feb. 1992. I’ve watched Gail Porter’s alopecia experience, very unfortunate! Hair Loss changed me for ever; It’s a condition I had to live with permanently, the hair grows for six months and breaks in a day! Its very hurt breaking to see my hair go and there is nothing that can stop it! Hair loss is horrible, i don’t like to think about it.! All of you out there, be strong.
Its Damalie again, its now 16 years since i lost my hair, if you want me to come to the show and share my experience am more than willing. This could held other people with the same condition to regain confidence. send me an email and yeah we’ll share!!
Gail porter is great
what does she, dream about, talk about, think about etc
Hey im a 14 year old girl. i suffer frm alopecia 2. it been a year and was wondering how i could contact gail porter to ask her about her experience with alopecia
Gail Porter is very brave
It’s so harsh that our sense of worth is derived from a few dead cells. I mean even though I lament my lost locks myself (just male pattern baldness in my fourties, but painful none-the-less), I still shave my beard. What the hell makes head hair so damned important and facial hair so easily discarded?
Gail I watched your program repeated tonight, and you are still the girl I lost my heart to when you were on kids TV. I cried with you when you tried on the wig.
I’m glad you have chosen to stand up for your new look. Unfortunately not everyone will appreciate the fortitude it takes to be as strong as that. I hope you survive intact babe.
Hi, I am a girl from Tokyo.
I got alopecia last year and I lost 99% of my hair on my head.
I tried to kill myself as well as Gail did. But I didn’t.. I am still no hair but surviving still. I really thank her to expose this disease to the world. Because this disease is not yet considered severely as it doesn’t risk one’s life.
However, it DOES affect to mentally and side affect is awfully bad..
I really admire Gail Porter, and respect her.
