I was on birth control pill for a few years now and decided to get off completely. Since then, I have experienced consistent weight gain, and am now 25 pounds above my ideal weight! I try to watch what I eat and stay as active as I can, but I gained about 20 pounds within the last couple months, and this alarming number seems to be increasing with each passing day. I am not sure if this is directly linked to getting off the pill, or if it is just due to stress, or a slowing metabolism, but I am only 25. Either way, I feel powerless and am really trying to find a way to shed those 25 pounds quickly and keep them off for good.

I have been diagnosed with a thyroid condition. I had heart palps and 50 pound weight gain. It took a couple of years to get my horomones under control and then I had energy to exercise and I lost 40 pounds and was not real thin but ok with my weight as I looked good and was healthy. THen I got pregnant. The doctor told me I don't have thyroid problem and my TSH went from .16 to 2.59 in 2 months and I was feeling horrible. So what does he do? He took me off of my thyroid medicine and have not been back on. I have gained 80 pounds. I lost 30 after the pregnancy and then gained 36 pound in a year. I just gained another 10 pounds this month and I have been working out in the garden which is good exercise. I have little energy and my joints are in horrible pain.. I don't know what to do. any advice?

I have had a 10-15 pound weight gain in a matter of a couple weeks. I literally went from 128 to 134 pounds in 2 days. Whats going on? I eat the same all the time. I literally eat fruit loops, 100 calorie swiss rolls and other things that we buy all the time in my house. I need a change in my diet of healthier and smaller portions. I also need a good exercise routine for working out different body parts alternating days. Im scared of this weight gain I fear it will grow rapidly out of control! I feel powerless over it. I weigh 134 pounds and I am 5'6" But I should weight arounds 125. Im a model and I cant allow this to hjappen. I was bulemic for 3 years and I hope my mind doesnt resort to that again. I was a drug user for 4 years and Ive been clean and that lead to a weight gain a while back as well. Im scared this is going to result in something bad. I want my body back.

You really should be vigilant when it comes to issues about your health whether you are on the move for weight loss or merely to maintain a good well-being.

I agree that it is indeed a must to consult your doctor whenever you find something unusual about yourself. Remember, "Prevention is better than cure." It’s not always that our hunches can be relied upon so you better submit yourself to prior checkups especially if you’re struggling with losing weight and it just seems to go nowhere. The reasons presented are actually factual and other factors such as approaching menopause, stress (most especially if you're insulin resistant - your body converts every calorie it can into fat), age, gender, genetics and development of any disease can also contribute to unexplainable weight gain.
