GB#15 - Denver to Build its Own Solar PlantIn another fine example of local government demonstrating leadership skills far beyond that of its federal counterparts, the city of Denver, Colorado is initiating a project to build one of the first muni-owned solar power plants in the US.

Plans are for a facility that will generate enough juice to power more than 1,000 homes. Xcel Energy will act as the distributor, buying the electricity from the city and reselling to consumers.
