Xcel Energy is now the largest wind power utility in America. Xcel Energy is also pursuing a new technology by converting and storing wind power into a new cutting edge hydrogen storage system. 

The company also has voluntarily converted older coal plants in Minneapolis, MN and Denver, CO with new technology to reduce emissions. 

Many Xcel Energy hydro plants in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado have also been overhauled and upgraded to increase renewable hydro power output.
