Genome CAFE at Johns Hopkins University
I received an invitation to the grand opening of the Genome CAFE at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and was intrigued. Unfortunately, I’m not in the Baltimore area and won’t be able to attend. The Genome CAFE also doesn’t appear to have a website up yet.
According to Giovanni Parmigiani, a professor in the department of oncology, the Genome CAFE (Computing and Foregathering Environment) is:
…a computing laboratory whose goal is to provide an intellectual and physical environment for researchers involved in computational aspects of biostatistics, genetic epidemiology, molecular microbiology and immunology, and oncology. It has some really fancy toys.
Toys? I’m there.
