Getting Naked Again – Book Giveaway

I went through a period of time – about 3 years – where I completely left the idea of dating behind. I was hurt by my divorce, then a later reconciliation with my ex-husband that led to the birth of my youngest, but ultimately fell apart. I wanted to concentrate on taking care of my kids, my home. I wanted to protect my heart.

I believe that this break was good. I’d seen so many women immediately run on to the next relationship, as quickly as possible, only to see it blow up in their face, leaving them even more hurt than before. I did not want to be one of those women.

At a certain point, I thought, okay I’m ready to try again. Unfortunately, getting back “out there,” terrified me. I had no idea how to do it – where to start?  Would someone be turned off by my no-longer 20-something body?  I worried that I had waited too long, that I had lost that woman-part of myself and was now just Mom.  All my friends were coupled up, I didn’t know anybody in my particular situation. I needed help, but I had nowhere to turn.

I could have really used a book like this. A book that would advise me about the basics like how to go about meeting men again and the scary stuff like beginning a sexual relationship after a break so long that I worried I had forgotten how to kiss. (I hadn’t – I found that my skills were still intact).  Did I jump into something serious?  Was it okay to date casually in this day and age?
