Getting Physical

Four vaccinations, a lollipop, and 20 jumping jacks and we were done. He’s tired, a  little grumpy, and of course I am the one who needs the nap.

We rented his favorite movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and rested on the couch for the afternoon…if you call throwing cars at the ceiling resting.

I have to say that I am not that excited that I gave him the vaccinations but I did it for two reasons; 1) our insurance would not pay for them to be spread out and we don’t have the money to pay for separate office visits and 2) I do want him vaccinated, as his immune system is too low to enter a school without his vaccines.

I’m on high alert right now for any sort of reaction. He had the infamous MMR, HepB, Polio, and the Pox vaccines. I know he had the chicken pox when he was two months old and we drew titers, which were positive, but our ped. wanted to play it safe.

He was certainly not happy to see four needles come at him but a lollipop helped calm him quickly.  We’ll see how he sleeps tonight.
